41st National Eye Donation Fortnight Observance by Department of Ophthalmology
A Gift That Lives Beyond Life. A Gift That Gives Sight.
On the occasion of the 41st National Eye Donation Fortnight, the Department of Ophthalmology, Santosh Medical College & Hospital, Ghaziabad, organised an Eye Donation Awareness Programme on September 4, 2026, to raise awareness about corneal blindness and inspire people to pledge the gift of sight.
The programme brought together distinguished members of the ophthalmological and medical fraternity, including representatives from the Ghaziabad Ophthalmological Society (GOS) and Indian Medical Association (IMA), reinforcing the importance of collective action in promoting eye donation.
The event highlighted a powerful message: eye donation can help restore the gift of vision to someone living with corneal blindness. It also encouraged people to overcome myths and misconceptions and have meaningful conversations with their families about their decision to donate.
A heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Alka Aggarwal, Dean Medical; Dr. Sarita Aggarwal, HOD, Department of Ophthalmology; and the entire organising team for their dedicated efforts towards this meaningful initiative.
Let us pledge our eyes and help illuminate someone’s world.
